Population Health and Prevention — Masters of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth

Improving population health requires understanding the determinants of health, health systems, health policy — and systems-thinking.  This course identifies the core challenges facing the US health care system and suggests how health care leaders can work within their systems and communities to improve health, care, equity and costs. Questions include: what is the purpose of health care? How (and why) should leaders advocate for addressing disparities? How can different approaches to patient and community engagement, measurement and payment reform accelerate improvement? How can health systems work with others to improve population health?
